Cat Slaughter in the Philippines -
Police Raids End the Horror

The cat slaughterhouses in the Philippines were illegal and the slaughtered animals were stolen household pets. Animal Network has passed the addresses of those responsible as well as those of the slaughterhouses to the authorities.

Cat slaughter in the Philippines was at last and finally ended by a series of police raids. As a consequence animals were freed which were destined the very same day for that terrible fate in that place of horror. Those responsible were arrested by the police and thus the terrible strangulation of household pets was stopped.

This success, which saved 30,000 cats annually from torture and death, was the direct result of extensive investigations, world-wide handling of the subject in the media and co-operation with other organisations. This co-operation, based on the Animal Network principle - of co-operation instead of "competition" bundled public opinion to the government of the Philippines and was thus extremely successful.

Finally cat slaughter was stopped at the Philippines by police raids
